Things are very slow right now. Work is slow, which would usually mean prime time for writing blog posts, but WoW has been slow too. I can’t think of much I’d like to blog about at the moment, which is perhaps why my last post was about grammar.
Raiding has become very frustrating.
My Horde guild has not killed a new boss in almost 2 months. We have been steadily banging our heads against a wall on Blood Queen and Putricide, but things never come together. It’s always something. Someone misses a bite on Lana’thel, or dies during the air phase. With the 15% buff, we really should be able to muscle through a mistake or two, but we can’t. On Putricide, people are getting hit with Malleable Goo all over the place, even using that cheap AVR mod. People stand in the wrong spots and don’t switch to dps the adds fast enough. It’s becoming a chore to show up.
My Alliance guild actually had a bright spot this weekend. Lich King still lives, but we managed to have 25 people show up on a Saturday so we could actually get some attempts in. Two whole hours of attempts, and we made some good progress. This might not sound like a big deal, but in the past 8 weeks this is only the second time we’ve managed to pull together for a second raid night in ICC. It’s very hard to make any progress on LK when we only get a couple attempts on him a week, at the end of the raid when everyone is getting tired. Next week the plan is to extend our raid instance for the first time so we can get a whole night of learning in. Fingers crossed that all our core raiders show up.
I’m a little burned out, so I’m not spending much time playing WoW. Instead, I’ve been watching a lot of TV. Last night I watched Young Frankenstein for the first time. I love Gene Wilder. He’s too awesome for words.
I’ve been watching Doctor Who with my fiancé, we just started the 3rd season and I still miss Christopher Eccleston. David Tennant is good, but Chris had a darker persona, and slightly maniacal streak that I really enjoyed. My favorite moment of the series so far, however, has been a bit of dialogue between a Dalek and a Cyberman:
Dalek: “You are superior in only one respect”
Cyberman: “What is that?”
Dalek: “You are better at dying.”
That is one sassy extraterrestrial.
I’ve also been re-watching The West Wing, which is one of my favorite shows ever. Lost is the only current show I’m watching (oh, and The Ultimate Fighter), but luckily that torment will be over soon. The writers don’t need to answer any questions in the finale, they just need to feed Kate to a giant snake and I’ll be happy.
Anyone watching anything interesting?
