4.2 brings all kinds of new gear for resto druids, available from raids, valor points, rep vendors and some new crafted loot too.
I am not including a ‘best in slot’ list in this. I feel best in slot is a mostly meaningless term at this point. Which piece is best depends on what other gear you have, and with reforging most of it is interchangable anyways. When looking at upgrades look at:
- Does it have more Intellect (which comes with a higher ilvl)? Then it’s likely an upgrade.
- The only stat we have that is subject to caps or breakpoints is haste. If you are under 2005 haste, look for pieces with haste. If an ilvl upgrade will drop you below 2005 you may want to reconsider it.
The secondary stat priority I will be using for T12 is:
Haste to 2005 > Mastery > Crit > extra Haste
There is enough spirit on gear that I’m not factoring it in to the priority, I’ll just take it as it comes.
Here’s a sample of what my ideal (normal) gear setup would look like: Chardev profile – this would allow for the 4 set bonus and still retain 2005 haste.

I’m jealous of the other healers right now. I’m a Holy Priest, and there are no cloth drops whatsoever in Firelands that have spirit on them (well, at least that aren’t random enchantments). Everything has to be VP, which will take about 12 weeks to get all the pieces that way with the new cap. It’s kind of disheartening to have to take subpar items and reforge them just to get the INT/secondary boost I’ll need for throughput.
It is very strange that none of the cloth drops have spirit. My priest is disc, so it doesn’t effect me as much. Hopefully you’ll be able to pick up enough spirit though things like rings, weapon, cloak, etc. And hopefully the new TB boss is nice and drops a piece or two of spirit tier for you. Do you think the 2T12 bonus will reduce the amount of spirit you need at all?

As I was making my own notes, I noticed that you have a mysterious set of hands in the legs section, and the Fiery Quintessence trinket is mentioned under rep buys, but not in the trinkets section.
