Patch Fever

Is it just me, or is patch 4.0.3a the best thing to ever happen to World of Warcraft? I haven’t been this excited to play in a long time. My only problem: I don’t have enough time to do everything I want to.

I want to get my priest up to 80. I want to do all the new quests on my druid. I want to level a new, Horde druid. I want to level up my new prot warrior (but I have to wait for all my goblin-rolling friends so we can level together).

I love the updates to the old zones and the new starting area questlines. I love the fun little mini-games like Plants vs. Zombies and spider wrangling. Everything flows better and some of the new visuals are stunning. Okay, I’m gushing, I’ll stop. Suffice it to say, I am pumped for Cataclysm.

Speaking of Cataclysm, I’m going to be away the week of the release. Anyone out there want to do a guest post here between December 5th and 13th? I know it’s a long shot. I’m sure people will be busy playing and writing their own posts, but I thought I’d throw it out there. Drop me a comment or send me an email at cannotbetamed@gmail.com if you’re interested.

  2. Doing this makes decision-making after the patch easy. =)

Any particular post topics you’re looking for?

    • Wow. Deleting everything… just thinking about that causes a panic. It does sound like a good idea though, if you weren’t enjoying the game and wanted a fresh start.

I’m not looking for posts on any particular topic, I’m open to pretty much any ideas.

  3. It has been fantastic so far. :D
My only qualm — if you can call it that — is that I’ve been enjoying levelling my newly reformed Paladin so much that I’m afraid I’ll want to make it my new main. Which would put all that achievement hunting I did over the summer to waste.

Hopefully it’s just the new-ness of it all that’s blinding me, and Outlands will set me straight.

I think it’s kind of ironic that 3 years ago we were all saying, “This is the best thing that’s ever happened to WoW! These new quests are infinitely more fun and better laid out than the originas!” Now, as I level through the revamped Azeroth, I’m dreading heading to Outlands and having to suffer through what are, in comparison, a host of sub-par quests and zone design.

    • I think Outlands still hold up well, I always enjoy questing there. Zangarmarsh and Nagrand are two of my favorite zones. It’s Northrend that I’m dreading going back to. I think my leveling will slow down considerably once I get there.

You should make the pally your main and do dungeons with me in Northrend :)

One thing I have discovered in the latest patch, unfortunately, is a lot of quest bugs. I’m unable to finish either WPL or EPL because certain quests cannot be completed.

      • They did a hotfix today to fix a lot of the quest bugs.. I can now finish my Tanaris quest! You may want to try again. :)

Yes, Nagrand is awesome. Hellfire is always a bit of a grind for me, though, and Blade’s Edge is annoying without a flying mount. I’m torn on Zangarmarsh as I like the look of it, but I just tire of fighting Naga all day. I think receiving fish scales & oil in the mail for a year did it in for me..

I can catch up to you in Northrend if you like! 55 and rising.. I think I’ll try tanking in outlands to see if I like it any.

        • Yes, I think both of the broken quests in the Plaguelands have been fixed, I will give them another go.

You have a flying mount for Outlands now, which makes it even better.

My priest is 66 now. If I had someone to tank for me in Northrend it might cure some of the disinterest I feel about the whole continent.

  4. I’m similarly excited about the last patch and since I had no proper internet for 2 and a half weeks I’m now finding myself feeling dreadfully behind. I’ve not had time to look much at the new zones or level anything new, being stuck in Northrend finishing getting enough marks from the Argent Tournament to get my mounts/pets before I start leveling to 85.

Still so much I want to do, and I hate the feeling of not having the time to do it all!

  5. Thanks so much for this great advice, it has really been helpful for getting my Druid up and ready for raiding :).
