This should so be a druid spell. Common.

Healing Rain (level 83): An area-effect heal-over-time (HoT) spell that calls down rain in a selected area, healing all players within it. There is no limit to the number of players who can potentially be affected; however, there are diminishing returns when healing a large number of targets, much like the diminishing returns associated with AoE damage spells. This should give Restoration shaman another healing tool that improves their group-healing and heal-over-time capabilities. 2-second cast time. 30-yard range. 10-second duration. 10-second cooldown.

We better get something even more awesome.

  1. Indeed! That is like a tranquility without a channeling component, and more choice on where you put it.

It does make me look forward to the druid announcements to see what they have given us to make up for this! 😀

  2. I was about to say "but we rain up everywhere," But Kae beat me to it. 🙁

  3. I will freely admit that my first thought was "hey, we're meant to have the hots!". I don't begrudge other healers their goodies, but I can't help feeling a little slighted considering how bad Tranquility is for raiding.

I really hope they adjust Tranquility or give us something similar/equally cool.. or I will be sulking in the corner 😛

  4. I kept hoping they would change Tranquility during this xpac to make it function like a priest's Divine Hymn – target the 5 people with the lowest health rather than the people in your party. That would make it a much mroe useful spell. As it is, I can't even remember the last time I used Tranquility in a raid.

Here's hoping it gets an overhaul, or we get a neat new ability like the shaman one.

I am also really hoping for the addition of some kinda of tank-saving cooldown.
